Rooted in the Community: A Servant Leadership: Growing up in Jersey City, NJ, Craig Wilson learned his core values by watching and learning from his parents and family members. His father was active in the community and mother was a dietary supervisor at a hospital. His parents got him involved in sports (baseball and bowling) and other activities. Sports taught him the importance of teamwork and leadership. His watched his father host bus rides to local sporting events, participate in voter’s registration, and serve in his local church.
Craig attended Marist High School in Bayonne, NJ. He later moved to Delaware to attend Wesley College where he joined Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. He earned a degree in Business Administration: Management in 2003. He began his career at Verizon in 2007 in the retail channel and went back to graduate school during his employment. Craig attended Wilmington University finished with a Graduate Degrees with a Masters in Organizational Leadership in 2010 and MBA in Organizational Leadership in 2021. His background includes customer service, inventory management, sales, retail management and a business account manager. He currently serves a Client Executive for Verizon Residential Services.
In his spare time, he likes spending time with his family, serving his community, and being active in his lodge. He is a father, a husband, and the youngest of four siblings. His family inspires and motivate him. As a leader, he aims to lead by example. He also is a member of his sister’s non-profit, 302 Movement Inc. He participates in local food and clothing drives. He credits his leadership styles to his upbringing as an inner city youth and his life experiences. He recognizes that iron sharpens iron and we all learn from each other. He is a continuous learning.
